The story:
This was my first attempt at curved piecing. I have been collecting black fabrics for quite awhile and enjoyed using them in this quilt. The heavy quilting does show the movement I wanted it to, but it also warped the edges of the quilt. My Mom (Grandma Bonnie) and Jennifer said that it was great - "it was an art quilt after all".

Description:
The quilt is pieced using a curved piecing technique. The 10 black fabrics are arranged by the intensity of the colored prints. It has a solid black outer border. The quilt is quilted, with clear mono-filament thread, 1/4 inch all over the quilt to show the movement of the swirls. The binding is finished by hand.Detail images:
